The
institution of assisted living for people with intellectual and related
disabilities in residential facilities is based on: a) the primary right of every person to decent assisted
living that enables them to develop their skills and abilities as much as
possible in order to live there as far as this is feasible more autonomous and
active in the social environment and the surroundings and b) the obligation of
the State to ensure this opportunity for people with intellectual disability.
The institution contributes to avoid marginalization or institutionalization cases, by addressing the issue of assisted living of adults with intellectual disability, in the long-term perspective and lifelong residence.
The operation of Facilities of Assisted Living (S.Y.D.) is open to the Community and similar to family environment.
